AVANT GARDEN: Ice Cream & Pops

Culture House proudly present Ice Cream & Pops, a large-scale outdoor mural by artist Cory Oberndorfer.

This installation is presented alongside an exhibition by the artist on view from July 22-August 20, 2023. Together, these two exhibitions occupy nearly the entire art space at Culture House. Tickets are not required to access the outdoor grounds, on view 24/7 through 2023.

Cory Oberndorfer is an artist fixated on nostalgia, American popular culture, and the joy of life's simple pleasures. His work has been exhibited nationally, including Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, CA, Redux Contemporary Art Center in Charleston, SC, Kayo Gallery in Salt Lake City, UT, Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA, Arlington Arts Center in Arlington, VA, and Flashpoint Gallery, G Fine Art, and the Katzen Arts Center in Washington, D.C.  He has completed residencies in Charleston, SC, Johnson, VT, Hyattsville, MD, and Ålvik, Norway. He has received multiple Artist Fellowships and project grants from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County and currently teaches at George Mason University. Oberndorfer received his BFA from Weber State University and MFA from American University.
